| Msgr. Doskey's Monthly Message |
To all parishioners, parents and friends of St. Pius X,
Hope is a virtue that
looks to the future with confidence of achievement and fulfillment. All of
us look forward to the hope of obtaining eternal happiness with God as a
result of our good lives.
New Orleans is filled with hope that it will return and
be a fabulous city and community again. The victory of our Saints over the
Falcons in the “new” Superdome has been an inspiration to everyone.
St. Pius is filled with hope. Our school has acquired
the SACS award (one of the highest possible). We are up to 316 students and
expecting a larger enrollment as more and more people move back to the city.
I was on the roof of the church today (September 29,
2006) with Louie Brunies, the adjustor from Catholic Mutual and a
representative from Renaissance Roofers endeavoring to get the cupola and
roof of the church completed.
After the roof is done we will be facing the inside ceiling and carpeting in
the Church. The roofs at school and flooring in the rectory are part of our
future-which we look to with hope.
Thanks so much for walking the journey with us and being a part of the life
and family of St. Pius.
Please register with one of the cards in Church, giving us your names,
family members, address, telephone numbers and e-mail. Our website is
